Design Features

Use

JTJ has been designed to be very intuitive to use. Common technology is used throughout, making it very easy to use the full range of modules with the minimum of training.

Help

JTJ provides on-line help facilities at the touch of a button, throughout the system. This means that if you are not sure about a detail that needs to be completed or entered you can call up the screen notes, which will explain the meaning or requirements. Again this simplifies the day-to-day operation of using JTJ to help you gain the competitive edge.

Quality

The JTJ system has been written using the BS5750 & ISO9000 concepts. In addition for those working under BS5750 JTJ has all the features necessary to ensure the users comply with the standards.

Communication

There will be an option from within JTJ, which enables you to send and receive Faxes. This feature means you can send and receive enquiries, purchasing requests, order acknowledgments, quotations etc direct from your desk. Capabilities such as these can save a significant amount of users time over conventional fax methods. Recent research shows this method of sending and receiving faxes to be between five and twenty times quicker than conventional methods.

Painting Pictures

Data and information can be represented as graphs, pie charts, pictures etc. As we know, a picture can be worth a thousand words. This feature is of tremendous help to busy executives who wish to see for themselves the way things are progressing on an ad hoc basis.

JTJ/MIS

Fully integrated Management Information System (MIS) for running Manufacturing and Selling Organizations. JTJ helps to generate enquiries, general quotations, improves the quotation to order ratio, takes incoming orders and processes the work from buying the necessary materials to controlling production. It issues the delivery notes and invoices and processes them through to nominal, purchase and sales ledgers all as one integrated package.

Advanced Printing Capability

Using laser printer technology JTJ generates forms with the data/information embedded within it. This means that there is no need to have pre-printed stationary, which either has to have a dedicated printer or time spent changing over stationary. Using plain paper and generating the complete form, as you need it, is a very cost effective way of generating this type of paperwork.

Data/Information Look Up

JTJ has the ability at any time during the systems use to look up and search for the data or information you cannot remember. This feature uses the systems very powerful built in enquiry capability, which significantly improves the users daily performance.

Time Sheet Capabilities

A time sheet database that can cater for productive and non-productive staff is incorporated within JTJ. This is used as one of the feedbacks to our extensive costing routines and also drives the workshop scheduling capabilities of JTJ. In addition this data can be used for payroll purposes.

Shop Floor Data Collection

"Real Time" shop floor data collection facilities, with full access to the complete production database information is available. They can act as drivers to JTJ's shop-floor scheduling capabilities. Its also forms part of the input for "actual" job costing and performance measuring reports which are available within JTJ.

Process Plans

JTJ is able to have the same part number with differing issues being manufactured at the same time. This is to cater for products that are being developed with several different levels of issues of the product at the same time.

JTJ also has the ability to have a number of process plans for the same part. This is advantageous when producing batch products are made, as the method employed to make the product can be defined on the manufacturing level.

JTJ can cater for differing machines or cells tat can be used to complete the work. This can be used to effect when scheduling.

Process planning engineers can specify the skill level required to complete the work.

Drill Down

Built into JTJ is the capability to "Drill Down" to lower and lower levels within the database to see and find data. This is a very powerful management tool to investigate the details of a particular question or problem, which needs looking into without the need to leave your desk. This technique is also very helpful if you need to trace a series of moves for BS5750 & ISO9000 type enquiries.

Accounts

JTJ produces all the necessary paperwork up to and including despatch notes and invoices. The Pegasus Nine suite of accounting software packages carries out the ledgers such as sales, purchase and nominal, together with other features such as payroll, VAT and BACS. These have been fully integrated with JTJ, however should the need arise; key information from within JTJ can be transferred to almost any suitable accounting package.
